elero releases demo of their b2b online elero PartnerShop at the R+T trade fair in Stuttgart
The Project – elero b2b PartnerShop
Together with e-commerce experts from Experts in Motion in Stuttgart, an elero team is presently working on creating a b2b e‑commerce solution for elero GmbH’s established customers.
The purpose of the future elero PartnerShop includes promoting the sale of elero's standard products and reducing the number of phone inquiries to the customer service centre. Business customers using the shop will benefit from an accessible, user-friendly, up-to-date website featuring a lot of clever functionality. The elero team is certain that the new online shop will contribute towards further increasing customer satisfaction. After an initial demo at the R+T trade fair, the e-commerce solution and the related new business processes will undergo testing by select customers. Once testing is complete, the online shop will be made available to all elero partners.

The Solution – Based on Intershop Commerce Suite 7
The elero PartnerShop is based the most current version of Intershop Commerce Suite, Version 7.9, and its reference application. This includes a comprehensive set of standard online shop functionality in the b2b segment, one of the deciding factors for elero when deciding on the Intershop platform. Some of the most important standard functionality for elero, in addition to a rapid ordering process using freely-definable shopping lists, includes a straightforward ordering process, and an account area for sales partners, as well as CMS functionality, which is already integrated into Intershop, and which will make it possible to manage shop pages in-house.
In addition to the standard functionality, the Experts in Motion AG team will also implement other functionality. A product configurator will make it possible for elero partners to immediately include in their order the corresponding accessory parts for the drive technology available in the online shop. The elero products that can be configured to include accessories serve as the basis for a so-called “product set”, which the partners can compile themselves using the product configurator. However, it is also possible to order these items as individual products. Configuring “product sets” is done on the product detail page using drop-down lists. The drop-down lists represent the accessory categories that correspond to the key product and contain the respective accessory products. After selecting the accessory products, the user can add all the selected products to the shopping cart by clicking the “Add to cart” button. Each of the key products and its accessory parts will be listed, making it possible to make further changes in the shopping cart. Once the remaining steps in the standard order process have been completed, the configured sets will be delivered by elero pre-assembled.

elero, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of electric drive and controller technology for roller shutters, awnings, and rolling doors, with headquarters in Schlierbach, near Stuttgart, prepared a special feature for this year’s R+T trade fair. The R+T trade fair, which took place from 27 February to 3 March, 2018, at the Messe Stuttgart, is the world’s leading trade fair for roller shutters, doors/gates and sun-protection systems. elero was pleased to release its new b2b online elero PartnerShop at the event.
The integration of a product configurator makes it possible to select and order corresponding accessory parts for standard elero products.
